AETIER STANDARDS

Submission
Standards

Aetier evaluates completed music releases through a structured human review. Because submissions are provided by public listening links, the standard focuses on qualities that can be meaningfully assessed from the actual release as presented: technical integrity, production quality, musical execution, artistic direction, originality, and overall creative impact.

01

Eligible Submission

The submitted link must lead to one complete, identifiable music release. The track must be fully playable and must correspond to the artist and title entered during submission. Snippets, previews, playlists, incomplete versions, broken links, private links, or multiple tracks submitted as one application do not qualify for review.

02

Release Integrity

The submitted version must represent the finished recording intended for public listening. Aetier assesses the version that is actually provided for review. Major inconsistencies between the submitted information and the recording, unfinished arrangements, accidental edits, missing sections, or obvious production-stage defects may result in rejection before certification review.

03

Technical Quality

The recording must demonstrate controlled and intentional production. Review considers audible clipping, distortion, unwanted noise, clicks, pops, dropouts, harshness, excessive processing, unstable low end, uncontrolled frequencies, and other technical defects that materially affect the listening experience. Platform normalization or ordinary streaming encoding is not treated as a defect in itself.

04

Mix & Translation

The mix should maintain a coherent tonal balance and remain intelligible across the full frequency range. Review considers low-frequency control, midrange clarity, high-frequency balance, vocal or lead-element placement, stereo image, depth, separation, and the relationship between major elements. Severe masking, unstable imaging, or a mix that consistently loses clarity may prevent certification.

05

Dynamics & Control

Loudness is evaluated in context rather than against one universal LUFS target. Aetier considers whether dynamics, transients, limiting, compression, and overall level have been handled intentionally. Audible pumping, excessive limiting, flattened transients, distortion caused by excessive level, or listening fatigue may negatively affect the technical score.

06

Musical & Creative Merit

Technical quality is only one part of the standard. The recording is also evaluated for musical execution, arrangement, structure, artistic direction, originality, hook strength, emotional communication, and overall creative impact. A technically polished release may still fail to meet the certification standard if its creative execution is not sufficiently developed.

What Certification Means

Aetier certification confirms that the submitted release met a demanding Aetier quality standard at the time of review. Certification is based on the specific version made available through the submitted listening link and reflects the quality of that release at the time it was evaluated.

Each release is assessed across eight internal review areas: technical integrity, mix quality, tonal balance, dynamics, musical execution, arrangement, originality, and overall creative impact.

Aetier applies a deliberately high certification threshold. The internal evaluation uses a 0–10 scoring system, with certification requiring an overall result of at least 8.5 / 10 and no individual review area scoring below 7 / 10. Releases with significant technical defects, serious inconsistencies, or clear weaknesses in execution may fail to qualify regardless of their overall result.

These scores are used solely as an internal evaluation framework to maintain consistency and discipline throughout the review process. Internal scores, category results, and scoring calculations are private and are not publicly displayed.

The standard is intentionally demanding. Certification is not granted simply because a release is complete, professionally mixed, or artistically promising. The work must demonstrate a consistently high level of quality across both its technical execution and creative direction.

Reviewers consider genre, style, production approach, and artistic intent within the same underlying framework. The criteria remain consistent while the application of those criteria is understood in the context of the individual release.

Certification is a recognition of the specific release reviewed. It does not guarantee commercial success, streaming growth, playlist placement, media coverage, label interest, audience growth, or any other future outcome.

Review Principles

Evaluate the Release, Not the Profile Follower counts, streaming numbers, social reach, label affiliation, marketing budget, previous recognition, and audience size do not add points to a certification review.
Technical Quality Comes First The recording must be technically controlled enough for its artistic qualities to be evaluated fairly. Audible defects that materially interfere with the listening experience are treated as quality issues, not as matters of personal taste.
Context Matters Aetier does not apply one production formula to every genre. Loudness, dynamics, tonal balance, arrangement, vocal treatment, instrumentation, and stereo presentation are considered in the context of the work's style and intended artistic direction.
Human Review, Consistent Framework Every submission is reviewed using the same underlying criteria and scoring structure. Human judgment is used to interpret the recording within that framework rather than replacing the framework with personal preference.
One Submission, One Recording The submission must clearly identify one recording for evaluation. Aetier certifies the specific release reviewed, not an artist's wider catalogue or body of work.
Version Specific Certification applies to the version that was reviewed. Substantial changes to the recording, mix, master, arrangement, or final release may result in the work being treated as a different version for future evaluation.
